The Industry

A sustained period of high growth in GDP over the last decade has led to boom in the CE and Appliances sector. Growing at a compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 15 per cent the spending within the Indian consumer electronics market will grow by approximately 17% in US dollar terms in 2013 to USD 35 billion, driven by rising incomes and growing affordability.

  • The overall small appliances market is estimated at USD 1.2 billion, growing 15-18% a year. The premium segment grows around 30% a year.
  • On the back of the robust growth of these categories, CEAMA predicted that the sector is set to grow at 20% every year for the next five years.
